Elder, community leader and activist Trevor Moeke describes his work and perspective on oneness, drawing from Maori culture, language, history and cosmology. Trevor explains how the Maori's “people-first” approach to conflict resolution, as well as their traditions of collective decision-making, self-determination, ritual and cooperation in the face of adversity, stand to make important contributions to the global political arena. Above all, Trevor insists that globalization challenges all cultures to look within and bring forward the most authentic and sincere expression of self-knowledge.
Trevor Moeke, is a Maori elder and community leader
who is a key figure working for Maori community development, higher
education, language revitalization and land rights. Trevor travels
worldwide representing Maori interests, working with indigenous peoples
to create networks and share knowledge.
