We're spending the day shooting at the Commonweal Garden, home of the Regenerative and Permaculture Institute of Northern California. We've been talking with Penny Livingston, the founder of the Institute, about the principles underlying permaculture, and practical solutions it has to offer for dealing with many of today's ecological and agricultural problems. A workshop on natural building techniques is currently underway, so we've also been able to learn a little bit about cob, straw bale and other fully sustainable, non-toxic materials.
